Im a philippine passport holder and has a green card. And we'll be travelling from chicago to shanghai to manila. And going to have a 24hrs 30mins layover in shanghai on our departure and 25hrs 30mins layover again in shanghai on our return. Do i need to get a transit G? In Shanghai, it will start the counting from 00:00 the day following the entry date. So you might be able to use the free transit and no visa will be needed.

The 24 hours does not start counting from 00:00 the day following the entry date. Unfortunately Philippines passport holders need a visa if the transit is over 24 hours.
