About:Visa on Arrival

I am landing in Hong Kong on the 7th and have a flight out of China from Guangzhou on the 8th

is it ok to use a Shenzhen visa on arrival for this?

No, the Shenzhen visa on arrival only allows you to move in Shenzhen and you cannot leave there for Guangzhou.
