Bangkok-> Beijing-> DPRK and back. Dutch nationality

Hi I am traveling from Bangkok to Beijing for 4 days and leaving for North Korea on January 8 with organized tour.

1) Can I travel to Beijing from Bangkok with a stopover in Macau using Chinese free transit exemption?
2) Leaving DPRK, could I transit in Beijing for 100 hours and then fly out to Hong Kong instead of for example Kuala Lumpur? Are Macau and Hong Kong considered third countries?

Thanks!!

1. Yes if you are flying to DPRK. No if you are taking the train to DPRK.
2. Yes. Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan are considered third countries.
