About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can current Visa holders (X2) enjoy the free transit after leaving China?

I am currently studying in Shanghai and want to make a trip outside of China during Christmas before returning to my home country (not equal to travel destination) with a flight departing from Shanghai. However, with my current (X2) I am not allowed to leave (and return to) China. Will I be eligible to enjoy the 72h free transit?

Ex. Travel itinerary
Shanghai - Singapore, Singapore - Shanghai, Shanghai - München

Singapore > Shanghai > München allows for 144 hour transit without a visa. just make sure no other landings in china or limited to 24 hours if you have one of the 53 approved passports.
