Hi! 3 days trip to Shanghai

I'm French and I'm flying from Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai for only 3 days. Then I go back there. I've been looking but could you help me with the visa?
What entry permit do I need to stay in Shanghai for 3 days?

You should apply for a tourist L type for that trip to Shanghai.

But for the tourist L, the duration choices are between 3 months and 1 year. I just need 3 days. Do I have to pay for a 3 month visa to stay a weekend there?

Yes, you can apply for the 3 month one for the 3 days visit.
