3.5 HR transit in hong Kong air port

I am travelling from Australia to colombo (SRILANKA) with family, all holding srilankan passports going to have 3.5 HR transit in Hong Kong airport.
We are not leaving the airport within the above 3.5 hrs.
Do we need to have entry permit?

Yes, you need to apply for HK transit visa for the trip beforehand.
