18 hours transit at PVG-Pudong International Airport

Hello,

I'm a New Zealander living in Tokyo and I have 18 hours transit at PVG-Pudong International Airport in December. Do I need to apply for a special visa to leave the airport?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If your next country after leaving Shanghai is not Japan, you can enjoy the free transit exemption in Shanghai. No visa will be needed.
