About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I have an 11-hour layover in PVG Pudong International Airport for my Incheon-Manila flight.

I have an 11-hour layover in PVG Pudong International Airport for my Incheon-Manila flight. Can I get a 24-hour TWOV as a Philippine-passport holder upon arrival in China so I can get out of the airport during my layover and visit some sites?

The most important detail is that your itinerary will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. However, if you want to exit the airport you will approach the transit counter immediately upon your landing where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. This is free of charge. Here you will present them your flight tickets and for this reason you are advised to print out your flight tickets and have them at hand.

You should be also aware that a permit is not a passenger's right, but a bonus that is offered by the airport authorities on case by case examination. In reality, those having long layovers, layovers during the night and those traveling with small children usually always get a permit and I think that your chances are very good, however, you will not know this detail until the official tells you that. In other words, you can expect both outcomes with the positive one to be more probable.
