About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Beijing-seoul separate ticket

I'm flying from US to Beijing (US Passport) roundtrip but have a separate ticket from beijing-seoul. Am I qualified for the 72 hour or 144 hour transit? Thanks!

Separate tickets are fine as long as your itinerary qualifies.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Here's my itinerary:
NYC-Beijing-NYC round trip Feb 9-21
Separate ticket: Beijing-Seoul-Beijing round trip Feb 11-21

Am I allowed to Free transit for 144 hour instead of 72 hour in Beijing? If so, I can change my Beijing ticket.

Thank you!

Yes. In fact, the 72-hour transit has been replaced by 144-hour transit, so you would be granted a 6 days' stay anyway.

If the trip would be NYC-Beijing-Seoul-Beijing-NYC, then you can get the free transit policy.

Did you manage to get the visa-free transit with this itinerary on 2 separate round trip tickets?
