About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Question regarding onward flight

I will be booking my flight into Beijing with a different airline to the flight leaving Beijing 2 days later - will this cause a problem?

If your travel route would be country A-Beijing-country B, then you can use the free transit in Beijing. No visa will be needed.
