Flying front UK to Shanghai for 144hrs

Will I be exempt from a visa if I get a flight from UK to SH via France, and returning via Amsterdam? Does it consider UK as country A and C or would France and Netherlands be A and C?

Do you mean that UK - France - Shanghai - Amsterdam - UK? If so, you are eligible for the 144 hours free visa. And UK cannot be considered country A and C and they must be different countries.

Thank you for your reply. The city in the UK I would be flying from/to does not have direct flights to SH, therefore I’d need to get an indirect flight from my city in the UK via another European city (ie 15hr flight with one stop via Paris etc). Would I still be exempt?

Dear, you are still eligible for the 144 hours wherever you leave for Shanghai and just make sure country A and C are different.
