About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If I fly from New York to Shanghai and return to New York in less than 72 hours I have a USA passpor

New York > Shanghai > New York is not a transit so visa is needed. To be eligible for Transit Without Visa you need to add a third country before continuing to the country you arrived in China from.
