About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying from US to Pakistan but I have a layover in Guangzhou for 25 hours.

Would I be able to get the 72 hour free transit on my layover? I want to know if I would need to get a China visa or should just hold off and get the 72 hour free transit instead.

Then you are eligible assuming that Guangzhou is your only stop within mainland China.
