Hi there,I came across a flight from Melbourne to Amsterdam with two stops in China (I’m a Dutch passport holder). The price is sharp, so I really want to book this. Here are the details:1feb2019 MELB - SZX Depart 09:00 Arrival 15:40Wait in Shenzen for 2 hours and 5 minutes1feb2019 SZX - PEK. Depart 17:45 Arrival 20:50Wait in Beijing for 3 hours and 40 minutes2feb2019 PEK - AMS Depart 00:30 Arrival 04:40So, if I would book this flight, do I need to apply for a transfer visa? Or am I good with the 24h TWOV. I’ve been googling the hell out of this. But can’t seem to find a straight answer.I had a friend who booked a similar flight with 2 stops in China and he ended up having to buy a new ticket at the airport because he did not apply for a transfer visa. Unfortunately, TWOV rules can change overnight. Severe restrictions were in place at CAN in January 2018, and multiple stops in China were forbidden unless the first stop was in Beijing. It seems these restrictions at CAN are no longer in place. Until recently (September 2018), transit without visa was not possible at SZX, but this changed in the last few weeks. It's now allowed, but not for transits to Hong Kong or Macau. At the time of writing, your itinerary would be fine for TWOV, but that's not a guarantee for next February. Sorry for the lack of clarity, but that's the best I can offer.
