About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

I'm currently in Shanghai on the 144 h visa with a flight out to Hong kong

but a family emergency means that I have to fly back to my port of origin. What are my options and the risks? Can I go to immigration without risking to be forbidden to embark? Will I have to pay a fine? Please advise I'm desperate with a super short time frame

Dear Lisa, you may go to the Exit and Entry Office in the airport to inquire whether you need to apply for a visa . You won't be fined and don't worry too much.
