Tourist travelling from Hong Kong to Macau

I'm Canadian travelling to Hong Kong for vacation and I hold a valid Canadian passport. Do I need a visa to travel from Hong Kong to Macau for a one-day visit? I'm not travelling to Macau directly from Canada so I'm not sure if the free entry exemption still applies.
