About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Eligibility for 144 hour visa free transit

Hello, I like to make sure if we are eligible for 114 hour free transit.

I am Korean passport holder and I bought a multi-city stop airline ticket, and my itinerary is below:-

14 December Sydney to Shanghai
19 December Shanghai to Paris
27 December Paris to Shanghai (arrive Shanghai on 28 December)
1 January Shanghai to Sydney

Am I eligible for 144 hour free transit in both lag?

Also my husband who has Australian passport has the same itinerary as me, but he bought two return tickets as we have one year old baby who travel with us between Sydney and Shanghai. So, his flight ticket is :-

Ticket 1: Return ticket – Accompanying child
14 December Sydney to Shanghai
1 January Shanghai to Sydney

Ticket 2: Return ticket
19 December Shanghai to Paris
27 December Paris to Shanghai

He has the same itinerary but only difference is he has two separate return tickets. Does it make difference? I understand my child need Chinese visa as she will only travel between Sydney and Shanghai.

Yes, you are eligible for 144 hour free transit in both lag. If your husband would travel like Sydney to Shanghai to Paris, and Paris to Shanghai to Sydney, he can also use the free transit policy in both lag. Separate ticket will be fine.
