About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stockholm - Beijing- Sydney - Shanghai - Stockholm (Argentine passport)

I will be flying to Sydney from Stockholm through Beijing and then back from Sydney to Stockholm through Shanghai. I will stay 16 hours both times in China and would like to leave the airport to visit the city shortly. I am flying with an Argentine passport. Do I qualify for the Visa-free entry and if yes, there is no action to be taken whatsoever before the trip? Thanks in advance!

You qualify for the free transit policy in mainland China in both ways. No visa will be needed. But in Shanghai, leaving the airport is no longer possible if your layover is less than 24 hours regardless of nationality. Some reported that bringing a hotel reservation will help. You can have a try.
