About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling UK -> Hong Kong -> Shanghai -> Hong kong -> UK

Hello,

My travel plans are:
UK --> Hong Kong (3 days)
Hong Kong --> Shanghai (2 days)
Shanghai --> Hong Kong --> UK

Will I be able to get a 72 hour exemption or will I need to obtain a visa?

Many thanks

You need a visa. Hong Kong-Shanghai-Hong Kong is not a transit, and therefore transit without visa does not apply.
