About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

South Korea - Beijing - North Korea

Hello! I plan to travel Seoul - Beijing - Pyeonyang. Is North and South Korea considered to different countries/regions and would I be eligible (I am German) for the 144h Visa in Beijing?
Thanks!
