144-Hour Visa-free transit. Sleepover on cruiseship before sightseeing Shanghai.

We live in Copenhagen and are Danish citizen. We attend a cruise from Shanghai and want to make sure, that 144-Hour free transit applies for us.

Our itinerary:

10. Nov. 2018: Flight Copenhagen - Paris - Shanghai (PVG), Arrival 11. Nov. 2018

11. Nov. 2018: Board MSC Cruiseline Splendida in Shanghai - sleepover on cruiseship

12. Nov. 2018: Free time in Shanghai. 4 p.m. depart for Japan.

If 144-Hour free transit is not sufficient according to itinerary, can You please inform us, if there are any differences in form off Visa in choosing to visit Shanghai on the 12th of November or stay on board the cruise ship?
