Indian passport holder 24hr transit

Hi
I am travelling from Canada to India and have 19 hr layover at Shanghai Pudong. I want to book a hotel that’s situated between two terminals. Do I need a visa for that? Thank you

Your trip qualifies for the free transit in Shanghai, but leaving the airport is no longer possible if your layover is less than 24 hours regardless of nationality. Some said that bringing a hotel reservation will help. So you can give it a try.
