You can go to visit the Great Wall in one day, the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace for another day. As for the shopping places, Wangfujing and Sanlitun are recommended. In late October, the temperature is around 5C to 15C. You need to prepare some warm clothes like warm jackets and sweaters.
