About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Separate bookings for transit

Hello, I am Australian and will be flying from Chiang Mai to Beijing on one ticket and flying out 48-72 hours later with Hainan Airlines Beijing to Tijuana, Mexico.
I will have the second ticket but not be checked in or have a seat allocation for the outbound flight.
Do I qualify for the 72 hour free transit?
Thank you.

Separate tickets are fine. You just need to print the confirmed eticket; you don't need a boarding pass or seat allocation.
