Roundtrip ticket before visa application?

I am a Pakistan national..living in italy legally.. having a small business of my own..want to stay with my friend(a Pakistan student) for 10 days in qingdao china. For apply of visa tickets need 1st? If they refuse my to give me visa what i do with airticket?

A visa is necessary for your trip to China, and you are suggested to get that first and then buy the air tickets.

Sir.. i think you didn't understand the question is..
I m ready to buy tickets 1st.. but if embassy refuse to give me a visa due to any reason my tickets will not useable..
Wastage of my money spent on tickets..
