About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Usa - vietnam (Roundtrip)

Hi, please help me out with my itinerary. I am a U.S. Citizen, and I will be going from Usa - Vietnam (this is a round-trip ticket). During my stay in Vietnam, I will go Vietnam - Shanghai (stay in shanghai for 5 days) - philipine - Vietnam. So I am wondering if I will be eligible for the 144hour visa in shanghai. Actually, all that matters in your whole itinerary is your segment:

Vietnam - Shanghai - Philippines - Vietnam

An itinerary of this kind, if you have mentioned all your stops and you do not any other stop within mainland China beside Shanghai, is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit valid for a wider Shanghai area.

Also, I strongly encourage you to use correct terminology because this is 144 hour visa free transit and not 144 hour visa. There is no visa of any kind within this scheme. Have a nice journey.
