Visa Exemption to Guangdong Province

We get a flight from Japan to Shenzhen next month. Do we allowed to stay in Guangdong province for a few days (no more than 144 hours)? Then, we will travel to Honk Kong to catch a flight to Canada. Please let us know ASAP. Thank you.

Shenzhen does not participate in the 72/144 hour transit without visa program so visa is necessary of a new routing is required.
