About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am arriving to Shangai on a cruise ship

The ship is in port for only 12 hours, does the 72 hr exemption apply at ports of entry

It depends on your itinerary. If you are traveling Country A - Shanghai (12 hours) - Country B then you can apply for the free transit policy in Shanghai.
