About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Using different airlines and separate tickets

Hello,

If I buy a one-way ticket from USA-Shanghai and then a buy another ticket from Shanghai-Bangkok using a different airline, would I qualify for the 72-hour twov? The stopover transit doesn't have to be arranged by the same airline?

Separate tickets will be fine, and you qualify for 144h twov in Shanghai. Nice trip.
