How can I get to the Grand Canal by public transport from Westlake 7Apartments(Yuewang)?

I want to see the museums and the take the water taxi? I heard that it is free, must I bring my passport along?

You can walk to west about 5 minutes to take the bus line 183 to visit the Canal Museum. if you want take the water bus, you need to go to Wulinmen Wharf and the fare is about CNY3. From your hotel to the wharf, you can walk to west about 10 minutes to take Metro Line 1 to Wulin Square. Get out of Exit B and walk to west about 8 minutes, you can get there.
