About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Australian Passport holder on cruise ship

Flying into Shanghai Pudong and then boarding a cruise ship the same day, cruising to Japan (arrive 48 hours after we leave Shanghai), then cruising to South Korea and to Hong Kong then onto Vietnam and to Singapore, flying home from Singapore to Australia. Will the 144 hour free transit apply?

A stop of under 24 hours get you the 24 hour transit which will allow you to depart on the cruise. They only give the 144 hours if stop if stop is over 24 hours. Make sure you leave enough time so that late flight wont cause you to miss the cruise. It may be better to come the day before and visit shanghai before leaving on the cruise
