About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanghai to Hong Kong to Beijing

Hi,

I will be flying to Shanghai from Hong Kong. I will need to go back to Beijing, eligible for 72 hours twov. But can I fly from Shanghai to Hong Kong then back to Beijing?

What are the alternatives? My time is tight as it's for work.

Hong Kong-Shanghai-Hong Kong requires a visa. An obvious visa-free alternative is (for example) Hong Kong-Shanghai-Macau.
