Are you sure! It is just a connecting flights whit the same airline and I do not want to go outside the international terminals. I have traveled from Tehran to Melbourne via Dubai , Abo Dhabi ,Doha and Kuala Lumpur before and never need a visa.

Thanks

Yes, I'm sure. I think you'll find that none of your other transits were in China. Of course, if you don't believe me, you can try to travel without a visa but you will be denied boarding. Here are the rules:

National Iran (IR) Transit China (People's Rep.) (CN) Destination Australia (AU)

Passport required. When in transit, passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for a minimum of 3 months from the arrival date. TWOV (Transit Without Visa): Visa required, except for Passengers with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 24 hours. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination. This TWOV facility does not apply at Fuzhou (FOC), Huangshan (TXN), Mudanjiang (MDG), Shenzhen (SZX), Urumqi (URC) and Yanji (YNJ). This TWOV facility does not apply to nationals of Iran transiting through Xiamen (XMN).
