Can I take the money exceed USD 8000?

Hello! I’m working as a seaman. I taking my salary onboard over 10months. So, I have about USD 8000 now. I have read above your description. Then, I wanna know that Do I need to take Foreign Currency Holding permit from the bank?

Yes, you need, because you can only carry within 5,000 dollars without declaration to the customs. But once the cash exceeds the limit, you need to go through the formalities of declaration in advance and apply for the certificate to the designated foreign exchange bank. The customs will chekct it and then release that.
