TWOV Beijing China

I will be on a flight from Hong Kong to Beijing to Detroit. There will be a 2.5 hour layover in Beijing airport. I understand this qualifies for TWOV. Do I need to apply for this?

That depends on whether your flights are in the same terminal. If they are and your bags are tagged to the final destination, then you would simply clear transit security.
