About:Shanghai Travel

I’m traveling sept 3 and have a 17 hour layover

Traveling on a US passport from Sydney to Shanghai and shanghai to Amsterdam. I booked a room at the Airport hotel. Do I need a visa. I’m reading conflicting information. I don’t want to get to China and not be able to use the room and lose my money. Please help!

No, you don’t need a visa, just applying for a stay permit is available.

Don't worry. You can enjoy the 24-hour visa free policy. If you wanna leave the transit area, you need to apply for the Stay Permit at airport.
