About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying from New Zealand to Bangkok and stop in Beijing for 2-3 days on the way home

I'm going from New Zealand to Bangkok then stop in Beijing on the way back to New Zealand for 2-3 days do i qualify for a free transit?

New Zealand > Bangkok > Beijing > New Zealand is eligible for transit without visa. Please note additional stops, even if no change in planes may change the answer.
