Requirement of confirmed Round trip air ticket

Our daughter Simi Rahman a Canadian Citizen is working as Teacher at Huamei-Bond International School, Guangzhou. Simi has permission to stay in Guangzhou until 15th July 2019. My wife wish to stay with her Daughter from September 2018 through 30 June 2019. Is it necessary to submit round trip air tickets at the time of application for visa.
