About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I have to stay in Beijing

Am I allowed the following:

Day 0 - Arrive from North America in Beijing
Day 1 - Stay in Beijing
Day 2 - Fly to Xi-an/return same day
Day 3 - Fly onwards to Mongolia from Beijing

i.e. Do I have to stay in Beijing with the 72 hours twov or can I include a day trip to Xi-an?

You cannot include a day-trip to Xi’an unless you have a visa.
