About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong - Bejing and then stay 48 hours in Bejing before flying to London

I am an Italian passport holder coming to Beijing from Hong Kong. I will be staying two nights in Bejing and then flying back to London (where my trip started). Am i eligible for the transit without visa?

As long as you don't fly back through Hong Kong again (its not considered China) and your flight doesn't stop elsewhere in mainland china then yes that is valid. They look at country/region before Beijing and immediately after Beijing when it comes to transit without visa.
