About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a visa or can I use the 144 hour visa free transit?

I am flying from the US to Shanghai. I will be arriving in Shanghai to board the cruise ship to South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam to Australia and fly back to the US.

Yes as long as South Korea is the first port you are allowed up to 144 hour transit without visa in Shanghai to connect to the boat.
