You definitely do need a visa. Transit without visa does not apply.

Qingdao is not a valid port of entry by ferry for transit without visa. And Beijing Railway Station is not a valid port of exit. 144 hour transit without visa does not allow transit in both Qingdao and Beijing. This itinerary obviously requires a visa in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Are there other ways to travel from Japan or South Korea to China and leave by train for Mongolia? Without using flights/airports? Whereby i do not need to pay so much for visas?

Only Beijing West Railway Station is a valid port of exit for transit without visa, and trains to Mongolia do not leave from there. You need a visa if you wish to take the train to Mongolia.
