About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

UK citizen travelling to HK and wanting to go to Shanghai

Is it ok if I arrive in HK - then fly to Shanghai (explore local area for a few days) then fly back to HK and home to London?

Thanks :)

Transit Without Visa looks at stop immediately before and after the single stop in China. Hong Kong > Shanghai > Hong Kong is not considered a transit. Sorry a visa would be necessary for that routing.
