airport exit

Question

we are traveling from Philippines to calgary canada our 1st stop over is in shanghai pudong international airport unfortunately we have a long lay over at 14 hr before boading to another flight from pudong to vancouver. We carry Philippine passport with canadian visa, can we exit the airport to explore the city?

You are eligible for the 24h twov in Shanghai. But as I know, in Shanghai, leaving the airport is no longer possible if your layover is less than 24 hours regardless of nationality. In some cases, however, people were let in when they showed their hotel booking confirmations. You can have a try.
