About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

l am planning to visit my 99 year old aunt in Fujian Province this November, 2018.

when should l apply for a visa? l have specific dates of visit - Nov 5th to Nov 12, 2018. l have chinese relatives accompanying me. when should l apply for the visa? Can l apply now or should l wait 2 months before my scheduled flights? Do l need to send copy of my plane tickets? Are there any other costs involved aside from the US $140 for a multiple entry?
Thanks.

You can apply for tourist L type for that. you are advised to make the application one month prior to your trip. You need to provide the transportation and accommodation arrangement if you don't have an invitation from mainland China.

US citizens are eligible for 10-year visas so the application date does not matter. You may be eligible for a Q2 if one of your immediate relatives is a Chinese national with an ID card. Otherwise a L works too (but duration of stay is shorter than Q2's).
