About:China Visa Exemption

Do We Need Chinese Visa for 7-Hour Stop in Xiamen as Part of Cruise?

Hello, we are Canadians taking a cruise that starts in Japan, then stops in Xiamen for 7 hours, before moving on to Vietnam. Are we required to obtain a Chinese entry permit from Canada, or is there a permit that will allow us to get off the ship in Xiamen for 7 hours?
We understand that under the "24-Hour Direct Transit" rule, no visa is required for international flight, SHIP, or train passengers who transit directly through mainland China and will stay for less than 24 hours. Does this mean that we are not required to obtain a Chinese entry permit to get off our cruise ship if our ship docks in Xiamen for 7 hours?
Thank you.

Hi, you qualify for the 24h twov in Xiamen, and no need to apply for a visa for that trip. Don't worry.
