Beijing to Hawaii

Aloha,
I have a flight from India to Beijing with a layover in Shanghai (not leaving the airport). I will leave from Beijing the following day to return home to Hawaii. I would like to explore Beijing, do I qualify for the visa free?

According to what I know, you are not qualified for the visa free. 144-Hour Visa Free and 72-Hour Visa Free are eligible for the flight from one country to another while transiting in one of the allowed areas in China.
