Hi, Hong Kong- Beijing- Hong Kong-Sydney

I will be travelling from Sydney to Hong Kong for work and would like to spend the weekend in Beijing. So if i travel from Hong-Kong to Beijing for 3 days and fly back to Hong Kong to catch my flight back to sydney (same day but seperate tickets) would i need entry permit?

Yes you need a visa as you're not in transit.

If you fly Hong Kong - Beijing - Macau or Macau - Beijing - Hong Kong then you're fine for the 144h twov.
