Australian - 20 hours in Beijing from Hong Kong returning to Hong Kong

Hi,

We land in Hong Kong and wanted to spend 20 hours in Beijing then return to Hong Kong for a couple of days as this is just a very short trip for us. Will we require to organise a visa?
