About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

San Francisco-Wuhan-Xi'an-Hongkong-Singapore

I am a German citizen and have a ticket with CSAir from SFO to Wuhan. I have a 22 h layover in Wuhan and then fly on to Xi'an where I have another 22 h layover until departing for Singapore with a brief stop in Hongkong. Are my layovers covered with the 72h twov? Thanks so much.

No. You need a visa. Multiple stops in China immediately limits you to 24 hours transit without visa.

Thank you so much. I was not made aware of that before my departure by the visa center.
